TOURS & ROUTES
Our tours and routes
If you have never been to the Dominican Republic let us tell you one thing: You’re in for a treat! With our famous slogan “Dominican Republic has it all” we are certain that you will find an adventure that is right for you. North, South, East or West; mountains, beaches, paved roads or colonial buildings, you can go basically anywhere and find places to explore on motorcycle. Depending on what you like, how many days you plan on riding and your level of experience, allow us to suggest some of the best spots to visit before you return back home.
Guided vs. Self Guided
We’ve travelled abroad and rented bikes, and we know one thing: knowing where to go isn’t easy. We’ve designed a set of tours for riders of all experience levels, ranging from single day, paved roads only, to multi-day trips with technical off-road segments. The tours are designed to take you to the hidden gems of the country through beautiful roads. We avoid highways and prefer the smaller side roads that allow you to see the real Dominican Republic.
Our guided tours are for those who want to see the country with an experienced guide, who can help them with the language, the navigation and the more challenging sections of the route, while our self guided tours are for those who want to travel at their own pace and prefer to do so without a guide.
Guided Tours
A Guided tour is the most complete package for travelers, where every single aspect of the trip is taken care of. Groups of riders travel together with a professional bi-lingual guide who will be in charge of making the most out of your tour. This is the most social experience, and many times over we’ve seen how the sense of camaraderie on our tours turns into friendships for life.
Guided tours are for you if:
- You are a first time traveler or visiting somewhere for the first time
- You'll want to gain a deeper historical understanding of a destination
- Coordinating all the logistics is not for you
- Do not speak spanish (native language)
- You might need help along the way (mechanical or technical)
Self Guided Tours
Self-Guided Tours are the perfect balance between the freedom you crave, and the peace of mind that comes with expert assistance in planning the perfect route, attractions, hotels and other experiences along your journey. Tell us what you want to do, where do you want to go and we can create your own unique experience by pairing a DR Moto Rides rental with your favorite hotels, campgrounds, lodges and private homes. If you can dream it – we can build it!
Self guided tours are for you if:
- You are an experienced traveler / rider
- You are traveling with friends and want to 'let things flow'
- Can speak spanish (to be able to communicate with locals)
- You feel comfortable handling challenging segments on your own
Prefer to Do It Yourself?
Some of us are well worn adventurers who prefer to do our own thing. If you prefer to rent a motorcycle and travel on your own terms, we have a list of available routes that you can access in our Wikiloc profile. Be aware of:
– Moving time
– Total time
– Difficulty (this could have changed due to weather conditions)
– Description (we try to be as very thorough as possible)
Pick one that works for your skill level, trip length and interests and if you have any questions about the route do not hesitate to ask us!
